Wow, where did July go. It is already August. We had a busy July, birthday's and I do think that Josh and Angela arrived back to TEXAS on Friday the 31st.
Courtney planned the surprise of the year. She worked very hard on Jennifer's 40th birthday surprise. It went off just as planned, and what was even better is that it actually fell on her birthday the 25th of July. She was really surprised. Bradley's birthday was the 20th. We all met at Uncle Julio's restaurant in Dallas for the big surprise.
It will be nice to have Josh and Angela around for a while. They are going to be working in the Dallas area. Hope to see them soon.
I have been doing some much needed cleaning this month, like cabinets, closets and drawers, getting rid of stuff that I have no idea why I kept it. lol
At least we have had some much needed rain in the last couple weeks. Everything is still looking green and pretty. The lake is full, which is a surprise for this time of the year.
Better go for now, I will try to blog more this month, it is just that there is not really anything going on here in the zone. Blog at you later..........................

July in the Zone
July is always a busy month in the Zone. First we start off with the 4Th of July holiday, which went quite well this year. We had plenty of family and friends here. Lots of food and fireworks. Now we have birthday's. Ashley's is the 11Th of July, Bradley's is the 20Th and Jennifer's is the 25Th of July. In there somewhere is Marks, and Ron's, they are neighbors. Bradley is going to be 38 years old, and Jennifer will be 40. Does that ever make me old. lol
The weather has been hot as usual, we did get about 1 1/2 inches of rain on Monday.
Hana gave us plenty of entertainment over the weekend. I could watch her for day's. She is such a diva.
Not much more to blog about, blog at you all later....................................

Holy, Moley it is hot
First of all I can't believe how hot it is outside. Sure hope we get a shower or something before the 4Th of July so it won't be to dry for fireworks. Next week here at the lake will be crazy, with the holiday falling on a Saturday. The partying will last from Thursday evening until probably Monday evening. The lake is full, and the beer will be cold. And the people will be plentiful for sure.
Talked to Jennifer today, and she is coming down, hope the Massey's are coming. Sure wish Josh and Angela could be here too. Hope Doug is off. I plan on cooking a brisket, potato salad, and baked beans, what else, lets see, fresh tomato's peppers and some kind of dessert, have not decided on that one yet.
The weather has been so hot lately, we get up in the morning and try to get all of our outside stuff done, and running around, then settle in the house for the hot afternoon.
Not alot of news to report at all, I understand that Doug found out about his shoulder pain, sure am glad to know that it can be repaired.
Hope to see everyone next weekend. Blog at you all later.............................

THE HEAT IS ON
Wow it is getting hot already. It is hard for me and Nana to take the heat. lol Nana because she is old, and me because I am lazy lol. We get out early in the morning hours to do whatever we have to do, which is usually not much.
Nana's tomato plants are really big and loaded with tomato's. We have picked 2 and both of them have been rotten. The plants are turning yellow from the bottom up. I tried to get her to stake them but she would not do it , so now he plants are laying all over each other and some of the fruit is touching the ground, thus rotten tomato's. Oh well I guess she likes to dig in the plants. She has planted way to many anyway.
There has not been alot going on down here in the zone. I have been fishing a little with Mark and Glenda. I sure do enjoy that, we always have such a good time. Glenda has been staying down here quite alot latley. We sure do enjoy her visits.
Better go for now.....................................................................................

Summertime!!!!!!!!!
Memorial Day has come and gone. It is June 1, 2009, summer is here. Here's hoping everyone had a great holiday last week. I sure did, I did not do anything, loved every minute of it.
Pagan went to Doggie Heaven this last weekend. She will be missed for sure. She was such a good dog. Every day will get easier for the Massey Family.
I read that Hana had her 18 month check up. Sounds like she is doing just fine. She went to a pool party on Sunday, she sure looked good in her suit and sun glasses.
Nana got her first ripe tomato today, and some squash. All her plants seem to be doing pretty good. We have one Aggie Tomato Plant that is loaded with blooms and tomato's, sure hope the are good.
Jennifer did not get to come down over the weekend she had to work.
Had to take Nana to the emergency room last Tuesday, her hand had swelled up and was very red. They treated her with steroids for the hand and it is gone now. The doctor said it was arthritis. While she was there they checked her chest, she has had a cough for quite a while.
They gave her an antibiotic for it, and told her to take 3 to 4 breathing treatments a day. Yea right. If she has done 3 or 4 all week would be a miracle. lol she is so stubborn. I guess that is where we all get it from. Any way she seems better now.
The weather has been great. I hate to say it but we do need a little rain.
Jennifer had to have a new hot water heater. Our good friend Mark, went and put it in for her.
He is such a good friend.
Brad is out of town this week again. He is down in Conroe and Bryan area. They sure have been keeping him busy lately. lol It is good for him.
Better go for now and will blog at all of you later.....................................

Friday and A Holiday
Today is the Friday before Memorial Day. We would usually have our Zone Fest party tomorrow the Saturday before Memorial Day, but I chose to cancel this year and reschedule it at a later date. Everyone seems to understand, and that is a good thing.
This week has been really nice. The weather has been so nice. It should be a good Holiday weekend for the lake. The county sheriffs have already arrived here at the lake. They started early this year. I figure the Game Wardens will be here later today and have plenty of them on the water by tomorrow.
Jennifer is not coming this weekend, she will be down next weekend and I think we may try to go to Canton First Monday.
Nana said the catfish have just about stopped biting down at the lake where she fishes. When the temperatures start rising, the fish will quit biting from the bank. She has caught plenty this year, we have quite a few bags of fish in the freezer.
Well here is hoping that everyone has a great holiday. Have fun and be careful.

A WEEK FULL OF BIRTHDAY'S
We had a full week of birthday's this past week. May 11- Josh, May 14 Courtney, May 15 Angela, and today May 16 is Baylee's 13Th birthday.
I talked to Ashley yesterday, she said her recovery was going ok. She said Thursday was a pretty bad day, but that Friday was alot better. She is not ready for company yet. She wants to be able to get up and visit when someone comes to see her. All of her kids, Dylan, Baylee, and Karlee are going to Six Flags today for Baylee's birthday. Nathans mom got them all season passes for birthday presents. This will help Ashley recover, she did say that the kids had been really good for her.
We have another cool weekend weather wise that it. We also had some more rain today, but this should be it for about the next week. The lake is completely full, yeah!!!
Next week is Memorial Day weekend. The lake should be buzzing with people. It should be zone fest too, but I canceled it this year. We are going to try to have it around labor day, or that is what date I am looking at.
Hope all is going fine with everyone. Blog at you all later...................................

Ashley Update
Nathan called to say Ashley's surgery went fine. She is going to be ok..I believe she will be coming home tomorrow afternoon sometime. She will not be able to pick up anything heavy for at least 12 weeks. She has plenty of kids and her husband to lift anything she needs lifted.
We are going to go up on Thursday morning, we may stay the night, and then again we may come home Thursday night. Nathan said they would have plenty of help, he has an aunt that lives on the same street as they do. She is going to get the kids back and forth to school, and Nathan will be off the weekend. Sounds like she will have plenty of help.

Nippy Monday!
Today has turned out to be pretty nippy. We went to Wal-Mart earlier this morning and it was quite nice outside. When we came out of the store it was misting rain, the wind was blowing like crazy and the temperature had dropped considerably. When we got home I turned off the air conditioner and opened the house up. But it won't last it is supposed to be around 87 tomorrow.
Hope all the mothers had a nice mothers day yesterday. I sure did, I did absolutely nothing. I did cook supper though. It was pretty good. After reading Courtney's blog it seems that she had a great mothers day.
Ashley has her surgery in the morning at 7AM. We are not going to go, which is ok with Ashley, I talked to her yesterday. Nathan will call us as soon as the surgery is over. When she comes home, Nana and I are going to go up and help out for a day or so. I am sure that she will do fine, and recover very fast.
Looks like Mavs may be playing their last game tonight. They should have won the last game, but lost. Oh well, guess we will start following the Texas Rangers who are in first place, until
All Star break, where they usually go to the bottom. But by them Cowboy training camp should be in full swing, and God only knows how they will do this year.

Fish are still Biting
Well the fish are still biting. Nana had to have a new pair if shoes, she wore her other ones out. She got these especially for fishing. She really likes them. I bet they help her catch a lot of fish. I went out again last night, had such a good time. This time Pam Moore went with us, she caught enough for her. The rest of us did not keep what we caught. Mark had already cleaned 65 from Thursday night, so he had had enough of cleaning fish for a while. Bradley cleaned 12 nice big catfish this morning for Nana. So now we are all caught up on cleaning fish. I actually cleaned 4 the other day. I did it but I did not like it. lol
Well tomorrow is Mother's Day. Hope all of you Mother's have a nice day. Our neighbor Jose is having a Mother's Day Celebration today at around 3 PM. The food will be ready at 4Pm, it is fresh seafood from the coast. He is having a Mariachi Band, and lots of guests. Me and Nana may go for a little while. I don't think mom would stay long at all, it is during the Mavericks game. They will probably lose anyway.
I sure got a nice card from Jennifer this morning. She made it. It is very Pretty. I tried to take a picture of it, but the picture did not turn out to good, but I will post it anyway.
Nana's garden is really doing good, lots of tomatoes coming on.

Another one bites the Dust
I heard a rumor today that is probably true. If you remember I have already blogged that the new restaurant Fuddruckers is already closed down for good. Well now it is the La Quinta hotel that was built in Gun Barrel City. Seems the foundation is cracked very bad and the inspector of the city will not let it open, saying it is too dangerous and must be torn down. It is completely finished and furnished. Can you believe, only in the Zone. Our new Bealls store opened up on Thursday. You should have seen the crowd, wow, they must have had some kind of door prizes or something like that. We also have a Hibbitt Sports store fixing to open up in the same shopping center as Bealls. I have never heard of Hibbitt sports, they probably won't last.
Went out fishing last night again, it is so much fun. We caught alot of fish, I figure about 30 - 40 nice sand bass. I am going to fry them this next weekend. I had such a good time with Mark and Glenda. They are two really nice people, the perfect neighbors.
Talked to Jennifer today. She was on her way over to Courtney's to see Angela and Hana. She said she did not know what they are going to do, probably talk weddings. Hope she has a good time. I told her to give Hana Grace a big hug from me, I am sure she won't forget.
It has been extremely cool yesterday and today. I had the house all opened up yesterday, and had to close some of the windows this morning because it never warmed up.
Better go, blog on and at you all later.....................................................

Spring Rains!
Well another wet weekend. At least the lake is full. I think we only got about 1 1/2 inches this weekend. We did not get near as much rain that the metroplex got. Thank God.
Sad to hear about the Cowboy Practice Bubble, glad to know that no one was hurt really bad.
I hope that is not a sign of the season to come.
I heard that Angela came into town. Hope she has a good time. I bet Hana Grace was glad to see her. She is probably wondering where Josh is. lol
I am burning one of my new oils from Bath and Body Works, it is called Dancing waters and I really do like it. My favorite so far is Black Currant Vanilla, I really like it alot.
Nana has been getting up really early in the mornings, and going fishing. She has been staying way to long. Then she comes home and is so tired. Well this morning it was really cool, and damp, well she went fishing as usual, came home and now she does not feel too good. Her back is hurting her. I had her take an aspirin and get the heating pad out. Well she must feel alot better now, because she is in the living room watching the Mavericks and bitching and griping as usual. I told her yesterday that I thought the Mavs would get beat in 4 this round, and they probably will.
I went out fishing with Mark and Glenda last night. I always have such a good time when I go with them. It had been storming all day, and it looked like it was going to clear off, so we decided to go on out. We were out a little while and had to come back in when the thunder and lightning started. We had 4 nice sand bass, Mark cleaned them, and I took them home and froze them.
Now today it has been really cool outside and dark and gloomy all day. It is a day that someone could sleep all day. lol
The garden is looking really good. The tomatoes are actually putting on fruit, and they are so big! All of Nana's garden really looks good. We did find a mole trail right through the potatoes, sure hope the mole is not eating the bottoms off of the potato plants, that would be the craps.
I think we have rain forecast several days this week. One day it is supposed to be up around 90 degrees. Well it is May already.
Hope everyone has a good week, blog at you later...........................

Wet and Stormy Start to week
We had one hell of a storm come through here early this morning. I have part of a pine tree down across a wooden fence. It actually crashed the fence pretty good. Had another piece blocking the driveway. The yard is covered completely with little pieces of limbs everywhere. It is still raining so we can't get out to do anything. Brad had already left for work, stopped at Troys house which is about a mile away. They got nothing but some rain there. I called him and he came back home, had to clear the drive before he could get his truck and trailer up the driveway. It is still raining outside now. We have rain forecast for the next 7 days. The wind got up so high it blew some of my lawn chairs way up on the hill, I did get them rounded up and back where they belong.
A friend of ours, Brandon Adams had 3 trees blown over, and another friend, Sonny lost one tree. IT looks like crap here now. Don't know when we will get it cleaned up. lol
We had a pretty nice weekend before the storm. Did alot of fishing, we have a cooler full of catfish now. they are on ice, Nana and I are going to try to clean them later. lol
All this rain should help the gardens for sure. The lake is full for sure now. They have had some of the gates at the spillway open the last few days.

Saturday and more Rain!
Well we got our weekly rain. We got a little over an inch this morning. We went by the spill way the other day and they had 2 gates open. Down on the south end of the lake they got 3-4 inches this morning. The lake sure looks good and full now.
Nana went fishing after the rain and caught a few. Now we are just waiting for the Mavericks to come on. They play at 3pm today, they should win again, then they go back to San Antonio and if they win today and the next game they advance to the next round.
I have been doing some cleaning this morning while it rained, I love to clean while it rains. It is just that my house is the kind that you can't tell if you cleaned anything or not. lol Oh well we like it and it doesn't bother me at all.
Will blog at you all later....................from the zone blog on..............................

Zone Update!
Well I went to the Dr. yesterday. I am officially released. Thank God. He said everything looked really well, and once again I have to thank my three nurses, Judy, Sister and Jenn Ellen, all three of you made me well. Thanks!
I have a friend that is going through a very hard time right now. Anna Montemyer, has tackled breast cancer, she started having really bad headaches, went for a MRI they found 2 tumors on her brain. One was the size of a golf ball, the other smaller. So this morning, at 8:15 she had surgery to remove the smaller one. Judy is with her at the hospital, and will let us know. She will start radiation as soon as possible. Please keep her in your prayers, she is a single mother with a 15 year old and a 7 year old, both girls. I will keep you posted. She is truly a one of a kind person.
Since I was released from the Dr. yesterday, I celebrated last night by going fishing with Mark and Glenda. It was so windy, but we had such a good time. You will not believe thisI caught the biggest fish that I have ever caught last night. It is what they call a hybrid, measured 24 inches long and weighed in at 9 1/2 pounds. I almost had a heart attack. Thank God Mark had a dip net. It wore me out though. We caught several sand bass and crappie. Nana went fishing this morning and had a stringer full of really nice cat fish. She had one that had to weigh about 3 pounds. I don't know how she got it out of the water. Anyway we are having so much fun.
Nana's tomato plants and pepper plants are full of blooms. That means we will be having fresh tomato's and peppers soon. Her squash look good too. She has always had a green thumb.
The Mavericks play tonight hope they win. It will be a tough game. GO MAVS!!!!!!!!!!

Nice Weather and the Fishing Begins
The weather has been so nice since the last rain, which was over 3 inches. The fish are starting to bite. We have been fishing everyday. We are not keeping any of them yet, just practicing. lol
Nana's garden is doing great too! Her tomatoes plants are blooming and growing like crazy.
Bath and Body Works had a sell on their oils, and Jennifer got me some. They sure do smell good.
I saw the pictures of Hana in the bluebonnets. She is really a little ham.
I go to the Dr. tomorrow, I hope for the last time. Then I am going to start on the dentist. lol
I go to the dentist next Tuesday, the 28th of April.
Ashley is going to have her surgery on May 12th. We hope to be there for it. It will just depend on the dentist thing.
Well I am going to go for now, blog at you later..............................................
Nana's garden is doing great too! Her tomatoes plants are blooming and growing like crazy.
Bath and Body Works had a sell on their oils, and Jennifer got me some. They sure do smell good.
I saw the pictures of Hana in the bluebonnets. She is really a little ham.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL
Today is Easter Sunday. Hope everyone had a good day. I sure did.
Jennifer came down yesterday, and Judy brought Kendall and Matt over to hunt Easter eggs.
Jennifer took some very good pictures of them. Kendall was a real star.
Sister came over later and we had a good visit. Jennifer and I stayed up and watched the Zoner Auction. It was a true joke last night.
I fixed a ham, scalloped potatoes, and fresh asparagus ,with hot rolls and banana pudding today.
Sure was good.
Jennifer went home about 5 this evening. We sure had a good time.
I will be going to the dentist to start on my teeth in the very near future. I am very excited about it. Hope it all goes OK.
About Zone Fest this year. It is going to depend on Ashley's surgery, and my dentist adventure. We may cancel it till another date in the summer or may even wait until Labor Day this year. I am sure it will be fine with everyone. If not, too bad.
I am waiting for Prison Break to start up, and in 5 episodes it will be gone for good. Damn I can't believe it will be over. Wonder who all they are going to kill off in these 5 episodes?
No, telling. I am sure it will be good.
We had quite a good rain early this morning. We got about and inch and a half, had a little hail too. The rain is really helping our gardens.
Better go for now and will blog later..................................

Update on Ashley
I just finished talking to Ashley. Her and Nathan were on their way home from a Doctor's visit. She told me they want to do surgery on her head. Evidently her sinus passage has a hole in it and her brain is coming through it. They want to do it within the next few weeks. She said she would let us know. She also said her neurologist said she may have some brain damage from the seizure she had not to long ago. She wanted me to let everyone know what was going on, so I thought I would blog on it. I may e-mail everyone too. Bog at you all later..........................

WINDY AND COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did all this wind come from? And the cold temps. Crap I thought it was Spring. Well me and Nana had to go out and cover all her damn tomatoe plants again, thats twice in the last 2 weeks. I told her today that next year she was not going to set anything out until after Easter! I think she has 59 tomato plants, about 2 dozen or more pepper plants, and cucumbers, squash, radishes, 3 rows of onions and no telling what else.
I read that Hana had her Easter Ball Hunt. She seemed to enjoy it alot. Hope the Easter Bunny leaves her alot of stuff.
Hope Courtney is feeling better. Brad boy is sick with a bad chest cold. He was okay until he took Hayden out Friday nite to fish, they caught about 25, and Brad caught a cold. He seems to be a little better today, just a very bad cough. Hope he is better, he is going to go and see NICKLEBACK next Saturday nite.
I am doing just fine. I may even take a hot bubble bath tonight. It will be the first bath I have had since before Christmas. I have been showering since my surgery, but now I believe I could bathe. Yeah! I am so happy about that. I have always loved a good bubble bath.
Sure am looking forward to Jennifer coming down this weekend. We may even go to the flea market! I bought some fragrance oils from a lady up there 3/$5 and they seem pretty good for a zoner purchase. I still haven't ventured over to Bluebonnet Emporium to see if they have any fragrances. Maybe we will venture over that way too.
Well today was opening day for the Texas Rangers, I just can't get into baseball like i do in the other sports. It just seems like a boring game to me. The Rangers won today, so that is a good thing I guess. They always seem to do pretty good until the All Star break, then they go to hell in a hand basket the last of the year. But by that time, the Dallas Cowboys have started training camp. That is going to be a completly different story this year. I hope they can get their crap together. Let's go COWBOYS>
Well we do have Zone fest coming up soon. I will be getting the invitations out soon. Sure am looking forward to seeing everyone this year.
Better go for now. Will blog at you all later.............................
Brrrr............its cold outside!

Wow, today was beautiful. Sun, Sun, Sun it was such a nice day. Heard that we may have a couple of cool nights ahead, bummer. Everything is sure turning green and pretty in the zone.
Talk to Jennifer yesterday, she is coming down Easter Weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing her. We are going to try to get Judy and Kendall over so Jenn can take some pictures of her, for her mom and Nana.
Nothing much more to report here in the zone. Will blog at you later..........................

Weekend Wrapup!
We had no damage to the garden from the freeze Saturday night. We covered all the tender plants with sheets late Saturday night after the wind died down a bit. Nana discovered that she actually has around 50 tomato plants set out already. She actually set out a pimento, poblano, and Anaheim pepper plants this year, plus her old standby jalapeno and banana and bell peppers we sure hope they makes it. The Birds are giving us fits. We are going to try to fix something to scare them off.
I talked to Jenn Ellen on Sunday, she sounded good. She said the her and Courtney may do a shopping day this week some time.
I also talked to Ashley, she said she was better and would go see her Neurologist the first of this week.
Judy and Matt came by late on Sunday. We had a nice visit.
I watched alot of the NCAA march madness basketball games. Sure were alot of exciting games.
Everyone here are fine. Will blog at you soon........................................

THE ZONE IS ALIVE AND WELL!
IT has been a long time since I last blogged. But I am back and ready now. My recovery was long and not quite over yet, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
I would like to thank everyone for all that you have done for me and Nana, we do greatly appreciate it. Love to all of you.
Special thanks goes out to Jennifer for staying with me the entire time in the hospital. And to Sister and Judy for keeping me going with the changing of the wound. Ashley and Nathan for coming and taking care of me while Nana was in the hospital. You all are what made me well. Thanks again, I love you all.
Brad has been a real trooper too. He has been working out of state alot while I was recovering, and he would call all the time checking on me and Nana. He got a new truck about 2 weeks ago, he really does like it.
I have been keeping up with Hana Grace for sure. That is what I looked forward to everyday.
I would not worry about her not liking chocolate milk, she will come around sooner or later.
She has really grown and turned into quite the little toddler.
Well the Zone is getting along quite well. The new intersection at Seven Points is open now. We look like a real town now. Well maybe we will soon. The lake got really low, but we have had about 7 1/2 inches of rain the last 2 weeks, and it is getting higher every day.

We had a new restaurant called "Fudderuckers" to open up. They were only open 5 months and now they are permanently closed. Only in the Zone. lol
The wind is blowing like crazy today. Nana has her gardens going. She has 2 this year, green onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and all kinds of peppers, cantaloupes, squash, and cucumbers. The darn blue jays are picking the tops out of some of the pepper plants, that really pisses Nana off. We are not sure if we are going to have to cover the gardens tonight, it may get cold enough for them to freeze, so we will be checking the weather later.
The yards and trees are really turning green in the last few weeks. Soon it will be time for ZONE FEST again. It will be May 23, 2009 this year. Hope everyone is planning on coming this year for sure. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again.
I really have been watching alot of television too. I am hooked on American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and Hells Kitchen. And of course Jon and Kate plus eight, although their season is over now, and not sure if they will be back next season or not. They are having some martial trouble. I can understand it. Kate is such a control freak. lol
Now that I am back, I hope to blog several times a week, to keep everyone up on the news in the Zone and Cedar Creek Lake.
Thanks again for all of your support and help! Blog at you later......................
